Avocado Chocolate Mousse // Mousse di avocado e cioccolato

Friday, September 16, 2016

I remember exactly when I made my first avocado chocolate mousse. It was last year, on December the 16th, and I remember it so well because it was the day the new Star Wars came out. As the avid fan I am, I bought the ticket for the first available screening which was at 2:30 pm, and long story short I had to eat something fast because I am a tremendously slow eater.

Scorrete sotto per l'italiano

So I picked the ripe avocado, mashed half of it, mixed with some parmesan and made some avocado toasts. But that wasn't filling enough, so I decided to try the 2-ingredient avocado chocolate mousse that was all over the internet. It just wasn't that good. I could still taste the fat from the avocado, and I don't know, it just wasn't for me.

But it still was a very healthy alternative to the classic mousse filled with sugar and heavy cream, so I decided to give the avocado-dessert couple another try, adding a 3 ingredient, coconut milk. And what a difference it made!

So not only I ended up with a creamy, velvety, flavourful dessert, but with something so full of healthy fats, fiber and nutrients that "normal" dessert can only dream about.

INGREDIENTS
1 serving
  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 2 tablespoon coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Raspberries (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS
  • Combine all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Pour it into a glass or ramekin, and garnish with raspberries.

INGREDIENTI
1 porzione
  • 1/2 avocado maturo
  • 2 cucchiai latte di cocco
  • 2 cucchiai cacao amaro in polvere
  • Lamponi (facoltativo)

PROCEDIMENTO
